Improve Your Social Media Marketing Performance With These 6 Tools
Do you want to discover which users have shared your content without mentioning your Twitter handle? Do you want to know who your top influencers and active users are?
To gain these insights and improve your social media marketing performance, here are six social media tools you should use:
1. Twazzup. This is a Twitter real-time monitoring and analytics tool. Use Twazzup to discover your top influencers (based on the users’ number of followers), most active users, top shared links, and latest tweets.
To do so, enter your Twitter handle in the search box and twazzup will generate the information.
By generating a list of your top influencers, active users, and most popular links, you can identify which users you should interact with and drive more. You can also use the information to determine which kind of content you should share more often to gain more social sharing and online exposure.
2. My Top Tweet. Use this tool to identify your top tweet based on the number of retweets it has generated. Enter your Twitter handle in the search box and My Top Tweet will find and display your top tweet within last 3200 tweets.
Here’s an example using @ZARA:
As you can see, @ZARA’s top tweet is “ESPAÑA. Las rebajas empiezan hoy http://www.zara.com/es.” By discovering your top tweet, you can find out which kind of tweets or articles your audience enjoys so you can share them more often to increase online sharing.
You can also use My Top Tweet to identify your competitors’ top tweets and get ideas off the tweets to develop shareable content.
3. Nuzzel. Use this tool to see which articles or links your followings have shared and which ones are most popular. For example, you may discover that nine of your followings have shared the event #hootraffle for #wimblepong and #techpong and seven of your followings have shared the article The Frankenagency: Is Your Agency a Mad Client’s Creation?
You can arrange the order of these links based on the number of shares they’ve generated or when they’reposted. For example, if an article has generated nine retweets while others have generated less than that, it’ll appear on the top. Also, if an article has been shared most recently, it’ll rank first.
Discovering articles your audience shares helps you discover topic ideas, keep up-to-date with your followings’ activities, and find opportunities to interact with Twitter users.
4. Rite tag. Use this tool to find relevant hashtags based on hashtags you’ve used. To do so, sync your Twitter account with Rite tag.
For example, if you’ve used the hashtag #socialmedia in a tweet, Rite tag will recommend similar hashtags such as “#marketing,” “#social,” “#media.” If you’ve used the hashtag #smallbusinesses, the tool will suggest “#startups,” “#smes,” or “#local.”

Include these suggested hashtags in future tweets to see there’s an increase in click-through rate (CTR) or retweets.
You can also use Rite tag to generate relevant hashtags based on hashtags your competitors have used.
To do so, go to Time Any Twitter Timeline in your account, enter a competitor’s Twitter handle, and click on Load tweets.
Here’s an example of @TAXICanada.
5. Trends24. Use this tool to find trending keywords or hashtags with your city in the last 24 hours.
For example, by selecting Vancouver as your location, you can find trending keywords or hashtags such asVancouver, Surrey, or Whistler.
Once you have identified these trendy keywords, search for them using Twitter Search and see why users have mentioned these keywords. If you discover, for example, that people have mentioned these keywords because of a major news event, you can blog about it to attract readers while the news is hot.
6. Like Explorer. Use this tool to identify the number of Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, StumbleUpon, Google+, and Pinterest shares a webpage (URL) has generated.
To use Like Explorer, enter the URL of the webpage you want to gather insights on and the tool will generate the number of shares the webpage has had on different platforms.
You can also use Like Explorer to identify which Twitter users have shared the URL by clicking on the Twitter icon.
What’s particularly unique about Like Explorer is that it can even find URLs that are shortened using tools such as Bit.ly or Ow.ly.
In addition to discovering the number of shared your article has generated or which users have shared your blog, use Like Explorer to discover the number of shares your competitors’ contents have generated and which Twitter users shared the blogs. These insights will help you identify topics that interest your target audience.
By using the six social media tools above, you can discover popular content your followings have shared or trending keywords within your local community or which of your tweets have attracted the most retweets. These insights help you develop relevant and shareable content.
